Picking A Longshot Horse To Bet On

A horse racing betting system usually involves looking at a number of factors to find the horse that is most likely to win.  However, the problem with finding that horse is that it he may not be the horse with the best value and beating horseracing by picking favorites is not going to happen.  In my opinion,  picking longshots is a better way to win money at horse betting.
Just exactly what does constitute a true longshot in horse racing?   As a general rule, it can be said that a longshot would have odds beyond 8/1.  Picking longshots is not always easy but these  bets are what pay the most and longshots in horseracing make for exciting  payoffs for those handicappers willing to pick longshots.
Many factors must be considered to ferret out a worthwhile longshot on which to wager.  An expert handicapper will combine elements ranging from weather and track conditions to considerations involving recent results, riders and other factors.
Horse  racing favorites have low payoffs .   That is why these horses can win about a third of the time and still you do not make any money by betting them.  How do we know when favorites are weak?  One way  is to look at a horse’s past performances in the “Daily Racing Form”.  As a rule, you will find that most favorites lose when you find wagering factors  going against them.  Taking the time to separate strong contenders from weak favorites by looking at past performances will give you the chance to make a profit in  horse wagering.
If  you are looking to differentiate between a good favorite and a weak favorite  then you need to do a few basic things when considering longshot bets.
I suggest the following:
You must look at a horse first in  terms of class.  Does the horse have the potential  to seriously compete in the class of today’s horserace?  Has the horse proven ability on today’s racetrack  or a similar one?  Does the horse have  good form in the past few races according to past performances? Can the horse  run at this distance?  Can the horse  handle today’s racetrack conditions?   Does the horse have a good trainer and jockey? You would be surprised at  how many losing favorites have a weak jockey or trainer and how many racing  longshots have solid jockeys and trainers. If you can find that a favorite does  not do well on some of these questions then you should seriously look at  betting against the horse and look at picking longshots.  The price of the horse also is a factor when  considering longshot bets.  If you see a  favorite that is at low race odds and has any question marks then you know it  could be a vulnerable horse and racing longshots could be worth a look.
Going  against horse racing favorites is often a good way to go in horse betting since you will make money in the long term.  These favorites are oftentimes bet by the  public far more than they should be.  Take  the time to analyze the horse race and look for weak favorites and spots to go  against those horses in long shots horseracing.   If you find they are weak then you have a longshot that  could be worth playing.
I do not suggest exotic bets, but if you just need to place such a bet, you may want to  put that longshot horse into exacta, trifecta, superfecta Pick 3 or even Pick 6  tickets.

Hockey Betting Tips

What should you consider when betting on hockey games? Generally, stats are an important part in the game of hockey, and they do portray an interesting reference on what teams have done in past hockey games. However, you need to know more when betting on hockey than stats.
The first thing to do is remember the hockey cliche, “Any team can beat any other team on any given night.” Once this cliché has sunk in you head, you will be able to make more informed wagers.
Many things come into play when trying to pick a winner. Hockey is not an easy sport when it comes to betting. Maybe that is why most sports bettors do not bet on the sport! Below is a list of a few other things, besides stats, to consider when betting on the NHL or other hockey games.
1. Injuries. With all the travel and hockey games that are played, injuries are bound to happen. Some injuries may be easier to explain or notice than others. Broken bones can take up to 6 weeks to heal. However, if the player injures a groin there is no set timeline for recovery and the injury may easily return. Then there are minor injuries that may not keep a player out of a game, but can affect his performance on the ice. Finally, injuries to key players in the roster can have a drastic affect to the teams chemistry and confidence. Thus, keep an eye on the injured list.
2. Hot/Cold Streaks. A player that is hot and full of confidence is not something to take lightly. When things are going right for a player, the player might feel an extra boost of adrenalin every shift. On the other hand, cold streaks can bring a similar negative effect.
3. Travel Schedule. In any league if the team is traveling the day of the game, or traveling many hours and time zones, it will definitely be a factor. In addition, if player play games in back-to-back days or 3 out of 4 nights, it becomes increasingly difficult.
4. Missing Training Camp Or Any Prolonged Absence. Training camp prepares players and teams for the long season. Thus, missing the start of camp is like constantly playing catch up and the player never gets into the grove. Thus, do not bet on players that have been out for a long period of time.
5. Current Events. Any events, such as a trade, surrounding a team can affect chemistry and focus.
6. Take your own emotions out of the decision. This is a hard thing to do for most hockey fans. You bet to win! If you have to bet against your favorite team because they are not playing well, then so be it. Bet on hockey, or any sport for that matter, to win.
7. Goaltender. This is the heart of a good hockey team, especially NHL teams. The starting goalies cannot play every game. Thus, there will obviously be games that back-up goalies will be playing. Some back-ups do not see a lot of action and may be rusty and have off timing.
8. Trust People That Know. Look for information from people that know the game, have been involved, or have been betting on hockey games for some time. Listen to experts on TV or past players.
Hopefully, these tips were helpful to you succeeding in hockey betting. Building good habits and slowly growing your bankroll is the key to hockey betting success.

Pari Mutuel Wagering

Pari-mutuel wagering means, literally, a mutuel wager or “betting among ourselves.” It is similar to a stock transaction. When you buy a $2.00 ticket on a horse you are, in effect, buying one share in the horse’s performance in the race. The race track merely acts as a broker for the transaction and deducts a commission fixed by the state and shared by the state, the track, and the horsemen. The track’s takeout on every dollar remains the same, regardless of whether a favorite or a long shot wins.

Place And Show Horse Betting

Place and show wagers are not glamorous, or flashy like exotics; however, I think a re-evaluation of place and show betting is long overdue.
Betting place and show is obviously less risky than win betting, and will get you a much higher hit rate than betting to win or placing an exotic bet. The other side of the coin is that in order to make it profitable, you need to maintain that very high hit rate, and at the same time stay away from the small type payoffs of $2.10 and $2.20.
In addition, in order to get your wagers up high enough to garner significant profit levels, you will need to restrict yourself to major tracks on major circuits (or the special big-name stakes race days at the smaller tracks) where the pool size will support higher wager amounts without payouts being much affected.
When wagering by placing bets on lower odds horses, a relatively short collection of historical data in regard to your own betting will serve to provide close and adequately accurate projections of what you can expect. Since payoffs are relatively small, generally from $2.80 to $6.00, a test of a couple hundred races will be solid enough for predicting what to expect long-term.
Even though the tracks seem to be offering every kind of bet imaginable these days, they still do not offer place and show Pick 3s, or Pick 4s. Even if they did, you would be stuck with the currently less-than-acceptable rules for where your money goes when a scratch occurs after the series has started.
However, place and show parlays put you back in control since you choose the races you want to play and you can modify the wager even after you are into the series. Unlike Pick 3s or Pick 4s!
It is likely that some of you are already serious place and show bettors. Like for one like to place my bets on the horse placing place. I would suggest that if you are a serious horse bettor, that you read as many articles as you can on this site.
Have you ever been in a losing streak? I’m sure you have since most do! There is no better way to break a losing cycle, than to drop back to place and show betting for awhile. You immediately start cashing tickets, things begin to look a bit rosier right away. However, just do not bet any race for the heck of it. Remember, you should develop a profile for specific race types and of the horses who have all the best going for them in today’s race. You want super-solid types that, barring unforeseen racing luck, you will not often be disappointed when given today’s conditions and probable pace scenario.

Online Lottery Tickets

With the advent of the internet, a lot of businesses have gone online. Lotteries too have followed suit. Now playing online lotteries has become a norm, and it is indeed attracting a wide range of players from across the globe. Many feel online lotteries, like Florida Lotto, Super Lotto California, Superenalotto, Euromillions or Lotto 649 are the only way of getting rich. Hence, even in the time of the global economic downturn, people are getting hooked to online lotteries.
By paying a nominal fee, you can win a jackpot worth thousands of dollars. Even if you do not get the jackpot, there a whole range of consolation prizes that you can win. It is sufficient to say that the craze for online lotteries has gripped all and sundry. Almost all countries have their own national lotteries. The national lotteries in the Unites States like Powerball and Mega Millions pay you handsome rewards. There is a lot of buzz regarding the two lottery companies. Together they have generated prize money in excess of $300Million dollars!. Buying online ticket from the government is a reliable source. However, while buying tickets from private sellers, you have to be guarded and must be willing to do proper research. While making payment, never choose a website that does not secure transfer related data.
Once you have bought the ticket of any of the big lottery companies like Power ball, always place your ticket in a safe place and keep checking the official lottery website for details. In case you win, make sure you contact only the authorized persons and make sure you do not disclose details that are confidential to anyone. Before buying the lottery ticket, adequate care should be taken to understand the details of the game and also the terms and conditions of the website

Betting Horses For A Profit

Betting horses is usually a lot more enjoyable if you are winning! Just remember two things. One, you are playing against fellow bettors, and two, racing percentages do not lie.
Since you are playing against other horse bettors, you must be self discipline. Being self discipline along with knowing percentages will give you an edge on 90 percent of the bettors you meet at the racetrack.
The points below assume you have absolutely no handicapping skills at all.
1. Percentage Facts – Public betting favorites win approximately 33% of all races and finish second 53 percent of the time in the United States. Generally, second choices win approximately 21% of all races and finish second 42% of the time. Thus, generally, the top two choices win 54% of the races and finish second 74% of the time. In addition, you might even want to consider the fact that third choices win approximately 14% of all races run over the course of a year.
In addition, public favorites in 6-horse fields win approximately 40% of the time at an average win price of just over even money, while public favorites in 12-horse fields win approximately 27% of their races at an average win price of almost 2-1. Thus, this tells us that public favorites in larger fields win a lower percentage of the time but pay better.
The key to winning using the above percentages is being able to determine which of the top three choices actually has a real chance to win. Thus, knowing the above percentages, can help slant the odds in your favor. I really suggest getting a copy of the Daily Racing Form to further your ability to win at horse racing.
Although, the above percentages can really help you be a winner, the best percentages available in the Daily Racing Form are the jockey and trainer statistics, trainer pattern statistics and jockey-trainer combo statistics.
Jockeys who win at a less than 10 percent are poor investments and I suggest that you stay away from them. Jockeys that win at anyway from 10-15 percent are a little better and jockeys who win at 15-20 percent are worth a second look. However, jockeys who win at 20 percent or better of their races can be like money in the bank. Generally, jockeys who win a high percentage of their races that they ride, can have their choice of the best mounts. In addition, these jockeys generally have skill sets that are much better than their fellow riders.
You will find that the top percentage jockeys are on at least one of the top three public choices in a race and sometimes on all three. However, while a top percentage jockey often has a chance to win regardless of the odds, you really want to watch for them on are those among the top three public choices! Once you get the jockey percentages, you can then look at the trainer percentages and the jockey-trainer combo percentages to see if these numbers improve the odds even further in your favor.
Partnered with a top jockey and a top three betting choice, high percentage trainers usually win with a top jockey.
The next statistic to look at is the jockey/trainer combo percentage. This statistic tells you how many times over the course of the year and at the current meeting that the jockey and trainer have hooked up. In addition, it provides their win percentage when working together – thus, know this!
The top trainer/jockey combos have excellent percentages and almost always indicate the trainer is trying their best to win. If the jockey/trainer combo win percentage is good, the third element of the percentage puzzle is complete.
Finally, you want to look at what is known as the basic trainer patterns. These trainer patterns are based on the horse’s current situation in this race and show percentages such as dirt to turf switches, layoff times, etc. These patterns provide insights into a trainer’s strengths and weaknesses, and a high percentage trainer pattern again increases the odds of winning in your favor.
I suggest that you do the following to win at horse betting: Find the top three public choices then look at the percentages. If the percentages are good all around, bet the horse to win and place. In addition, bet twice as much to place as to win.
If the percentages are not in your favor, do not place a bet on the horse race. Use self discipline and wait until the percentages are in your favor! Just remember, you have to wait for the perfect opportunity if you want to win long term!
In conclusion, there are two things you absolutely must do if you want to make a profit betting on horses, apply the proven percentages and have the discipline to wait for the right horse in the right race.

Why You Need To Understand Betting Trends

Betting trends represent the volume of wagers placed at a sports book, on one team versus another. Public betting trends are often referred to as betting percentages. Think of sports betting trends as a direct link to what is happening on the sports book side. To view wagering activity on every game, CLICK HERE!
Monitoring public betting trends data is a vital betting tool used by professional handicappers to find value within the sports betting marketplace. It allows you to go behind the lines and see what is causing the line to move. Instead of just knowing the line opened at say Texas at -7 and moved to Texas -8, you will know that 88% of the Public is betting on Texas -7 which caused the sports book to move the line to -8. You’ll have a clear understanding of what’s causing a line to move and which team has more value.
Betting trends can also be used to pinpoint large money drops. Simply look for line movement that contradicts the betting trends, this is known as reverse line movement.
For example if 90% of the public is betting on say Miami -3 to win, but the line moves to Miami -2, you will know that the so-called Sharp Money came in on the other side. You would immediately look to bet Miami +3 at a slow moving sports book.

Horse Betting Odds Explained

Understanding how horse betting odds are created and knowing which groups influence these odds will help you make better handicapping decisions and spot valuable overlays. The way to make money at horse betting is not by picking winners, but by picking winners that pay more than they should!
The odds displayed on the tote board at post time are influenced by three groups of people who are wrong 66 percent of the time. They are:
1. Morning Line Makers - This group of people that influence the odds displayed on the tote board at post time includes those who create the morning line such as public handicappers, newspaper handicapper, and the general public. These people do not consider late workouts, scratches and other changes cannot be taken into account.
2. Public Handicappers - Public handicappers working for newspapers and other off line and online publications are also influenced by the morning line – in fact those that aren’t really handicappers (and there are many) base their selections on a combination of inside tips (almost always wrong) and the aforementioned shaky morning lines. And public handicappers have a strong influence on the general betting public.
The public looks at the morning line in the program, looks at the public handicapper’s selections, sees that they are basically the same, and mistakenly assumes, these guys must know what they are talking about, and compounds the inaccuracies even further by betting more money on their selections.
3. General Public/Insider - These people create hot tips. Especially, those with a stake in the horse. These people are concerned only with their own horse and do NOT take into account the other horses in race. Many insiders think that because their exercise rider or jockey tells them that their horse worked well, that the horse will win. Thus, they tell all their close friends, who in turn tell everyone else, until all the connected money shows up at the windows.
Many bettors assume that a hot tip from someone who works with a certain horse is a good thing. A hot tip can spread like wild fire until it makes its way to the betting windows. These hot tips can come from anyone including trainers, jockeys, exercise riders, owners, grooms, and clockers . They are usually, but not always, a disaster. But why?
The Big Late Money
Many horse bettors like to watch for big money bets that occasionally flow into the mutuel pools just before post time. Many bettors believe that these big late bets are often based on superior insider information and/or information products the general public does not have access to. However, it has been statistically proven that they predict success at about the same rate as the public.
Thus, remember that it pays to do your homework and wait for the odds to work in your favor and not to follow the three groups described above.
Thus remember, that the most profitable approach is not only to become a proficient handicapper, but also to become adept at creating your own odds line.

My Top 3 Horse Racing Tracks In The United States

Santa Anita Park – Arcadia, California
Santa Anita sits with the mountain views. It is in a perfect setting. Six winners of the West Coast race have made it to the Kentucky Derby. The Santa Anita Handicap, which features four-years-old and up, is also legendary.
The Santa Anita Park Racetrack is one of California’s oldest; starting gates and photo finishes were invented here. And, of course, remember Seabiscuit? He raced into stardom here and even though he’s no longer around, you can take your picture with his statue.
You have probably seen the Santa Anita Park Racetrack before, though you may not realize it. The track is located right outside LA, so it has been in many movies, most notably the 1930s classic A Day at the Races.
When winter hits, head to the west for Santa Anita’s perfect setting.
Churchill Downs – Louisville, Kentucky
You do not have to be an expert on equestrian sports for the Kentucky Derby to ring a bell. The Kentucky Derby is well known by many in the United States and around the world. The Kentucky Derby, is held at the Churchill Downs every first Saturday in May, is the first leg of the United States Triple Crown, so the horse that wins the blue ribbon here is destined for great things.
Lots of records have been set and lots of traditions have begun at Churchill Downs. The standard two kilometer race and the rose garland that is placed around a wining horse’s neck all at the Kentucky Derby.
Belmont Park – Elmont, New York
They say people remember the ending more than anything else, so that is probably why they remember Belmont Park since the Long Island racetrack hosts the third and final leg of the Triple Crown. However, a rocky and even schizophrenic history nearly destroyed the Belmont’s chances of becoming one of the United State’s best horse race tracks.
Belmont Park was just as well-known for its aviation tournaments as its horse races. And when anti-gambling legislation and a fire shut it down on two separate occasions, the odds did not seem to favor the Belmont re-opening.
However, it reopened in the 1960s and it has gradually gained the esteem of the horse racing industry.

College Basketball Games To Watch In Conference Play During February 2014

Below are college basketball games that will be played in February that could dictate how the final standings look heading into the NCAA tournament:
1. Duke at Syracuse (Feb. 1): The Blue Devils trip to the Carrier Dome, as the two best teams in the ACC go at it for the first of two meetings this season.
2. Ohio State at Wisconsin (Feb. 1): One week before Wisconsin faces Michigan State, the Badgers host Ohio State. It’s their one meeting this season.
3. Iowa State at Oklahoma State (Feb. 3): Iowa State is a different team away from Hilton, and the Cyclones need to prove they can win on the road.
4. Wichita State at Indiana State (Feb. 5): If Wichita State gets through this game unscathed, the possibility of an unbeaten regular season shoots up exponentially.
5. Oregon at Arizona (Feb. 6): This is where Oregon needs to make statements – on the road, against teams with size. Can the Ducks beat big teams?
6. Michigan State at Wisconsin (Feb. 9): The Badgers continue to roll unbeaten, but are they going to be a Big Ten champion? This game will be a key.
7. Florida at Kentucky (Feb. 15): The first game between the SEC favorites. It will be interesting to see the development of Kentucky’s young players.
8. VCU at Saint Louis (Feb. 15): The Billikens are always brutal to play, and how VCU is able to compete in the half-court will be telling.
9. Villanova at Creighton (Feb. 16): Not your classic Big East rivalry, but Grant Gibbs could be back by this game for Creighton. Likely the two best teams in the league.
10. VCU at Massachusetts (Feb. 21): Maybe the two best teams in the Atlantic 10, this one will be up and down, fast-paced – and fun to watch.
11. Wisconsin at Iowa (Feb. 22): Where does Iowa stack up in the Big Ten race? The Hawkeyes have a slew of close losses, but they could get a big win here.
12. San Diego State at New Mexico (Feb. 22): The battle with Cameron Bairstow and Alex Kirk vs. San Diego State’s size and length make this one a must-watch.

Basic Lottery Strategies

Is there a strategy to winning the lottery or is it all a matter of luck? This is one of the most frequent questions asked by those who play the lottery. Does having a mathematical system for picking your lottery numbers really increase your chance of winning over the players that simply close their eyes and pick their lottery numbers?
The truth about winning lotteries, especially those big lottery games are that the odds of winning are not in your favor.
The vast majority of people who play the lottery prefer to randomly to use quick pick.  There is no evidence to suggest that using quick picks will decrease your odds of winning, but there are many lottery players that believe that a good system does increase their chance of winning.

One system that a lot of people like to use is the hot and cold number system.  With this system the hot numbers are those numbers that have been recently picked, and the cold numbers are those that have not been used in a while.  If you are considering using this system the first thing you should do is log onto the lottery’s website and research which numbers have been picked over the last 12 months.

There are a few ways to use this system to increase your odds.  One way is to look for the numbers that have continually been picked over a period of time and use these numbers as your picks.  Another way to use the hot and cold numbers system is to choose the numbers that have rarely been picked; these are the cold numbers.  Of course using this strategy could help strengthen your entry, but there is no guarantee that you will choose winning numbers this way.

Another system that is frequently used is the lottery wheel strategy.  With this system the strategy is to arrange your numbers in such a way that it will increase your odds of winning the small prizes in a lottery game.  With this system you are choosing the numbers of small prizes as apposed to a strategy to win the jackpot.

There are three types, the full, abbreviated and key wheels.  With the full wheel you get the biggest set of numbers from your chosen numbers, which will increase your odds of winning, but it is also the most expensive method of playing this system.  The most popular way to play with this system is to use the abbreviated wheel, which does give you a smaller set of numbers, but can still increase your odds of winning.  For the most economical way to play with this system is the key wheel method where you choose your lucky numbers.
It is important to remember that when you play the lottery with the wheel strategy you will want to stay within your budget, and only play what you can afford.  For those who are playing the lottery alone, the key wheel system is best, for those that are playing with a group, the full wheel system may be more appropriate.

Another method of playing the lottery is to play with numbers that are selected with the numerology based, lucky number generator.  Numerology is a system that selects numbers based on the correlations of several different factors. This is a mystical based system that uses a person’s birth date, as well as their first and last name in order to select their lucky numbers.  The method with this system is to use the root number of your first name, and then add together the numbers correlating with your birthdate and time, as well as adding the total number of letters in your name.

The best way to increase your chances of winning the lottery is to get to know the game and play.  You MUST play the lottery to be a winner!

Horse Betting In Great Britain

Horse racing is the second largest spectator sport in Great Britain, and one of the longest established, with a history dating back to the Romans. It generates over £3.7 billion for the British economy and the major horseracing events such as Royal Ascot and Cheltenham Festival are important dates in the sporting and society calendar.
Britain is also home to some of the world’s iconic racecourses including Newmarket, Ascot and Cheltenham and many of the world’s iconic races including the Epsom Derby, Grand National and Cheltenham Gold Cup. The UK has also produced some of the greatest jockeys, including Sir Gordon Richards and Lester Piggott.
Britain has also historically been a hugely important centre for thoroughbred racehorse breeding. All modern thoroughbred racehorses can trace a line back to three foundation sires which were imported to Britain in the late 17th/early 18th centuries[3] and the General Stud Book first published by James Weatherby still records details of every horse in the breed.
Gambling on horseraces is considered the cornerstone of the British betting industry and the relationship between the two has historically been one of mutual dependence. The betting industry is an important funder of horse racing in Great Britain, through the betting levy administered by the Horserace Betting Levy Board and through media rights negotiated by racecourses and betting shops.
There are two main forms of horse racing in Great Britain.
1. Flat racing, which is run over distances between 5 furlongs and 2 miles 5 furlongs 159 yards on courses without obstacles
2. National Hunt racing, races run over distances between 2 miles and 4 1/2 miles, where horses usually jump either hurdles or fences, also known as steeplechases. There is also a category of National Hunt races known as National Hunt flat races, which are run under National Hunt rules, but where no obstacles are jumped.
The Jockey Club governed the sport until its governance role was handed to the British Horseracing Board, which was formed in June 1993. The BHB became responsible for strategic planning, finance, politics, race planning, training and marketing, the Jockey Club continued to regulate the sport. In 2006 it formed the Horseracing Regulatory Authority to carry out the regulatory process whilst it focused on owning 13 racecourses and the gallops in Newmarket and Lambourn. In July 2007 the HRA merged with the BHB to form the British Horseracing Authority.
There are 59 licensed racecourses in Great Britain, with a further two in Northern Ireland (Down Royal and Downpatrick). All the courses date back to 1927 or earlier except for Ffos Las which opened in 2009. The oldest is Chester Racecourse, which dates to the early 16th century.
Unlike the United States, racing in Britain usually takes place on turf. There are four courses which have all-weather tracks – Kempton Park, Lingfield Park, Southwell and Wolverhampton. Southwell’s surface is Fibresand, while the other three are Polytrack. Courses also vary wildly in layout. There are very few which are regular ovals, as is the typical layout in the United States.
The major horse racing events are:
March Cheltenham – The Cheltenham Festival
Lingfield Park – Blue Square Winter Derby
April Aintree – Aintree Grand National
Ayr – Scottish Grand National
Newmarket – Craven Meeting
Sandown Park – Bet365 Gold Cup Celebration
May Newmarket – Guineas Meeting
Chester – May Meeting
York – Dante Meeting
June Epsom Downs – Epsom Derby Meeting
Ascot – Royal Ascot
Newcastle – John Smith’s Northumberland Plate
July Sandown Park – Coral-Eclipse Meeting
Newmarket – July Meeting
Ascot – King George Day
Goodwood – Glorious Goodwood
August York – Ebor Festival
September Haydock Park – William Hill Sprint Cup
Doncaster – St. Leger Meeting
Ayr – Western Meeting
Ascot – Ascot Festival
October Newmarket – Totesport Cambridgeshire Meeting
Newmarket – October Meeting
Ascot – Champions Day
Doncaster – Racing Post Trophy
November Cheltenham – The Paddy Power Open
Haydock & Aintree – North West Masters
Newbury – Hennessy Meeting
December Sandown Park – Tingle Creek Meeting
Kempton Park – Stan James Christmas Festival
Chepstow – Coral Welsh National
Finally, wagering money on horse races is as old as the sport itself, but in the United Kingdom the links between horseracing and nationwide wagering are very strong. Betting shops are common sights in most towns

How To Win The Lottery

There are some strategies which can improve your chances of filling out tickets that win more consistently. I suggest the following:
Strategy #1 – Play lotteries with lower jackpots and that have less players. This increases your chances of winning the jackpot.
Strategy #2 – Never buy a Quick Pick ticket. Studies show that you are much better off picking your own numbers!
Strategy #3 – Play tickets that award additional money or prizes if a sequence of numbers is played, such as two pairs in a row.
Strategy #4 – If you are playing a lottery which requires that numbers be won in a particular sequence, you should always remember to “box” your selection meaning that the numbers that can win can be picked in any order.
Strategy #5 – Play lotteries that offer bonus wins for an extra number.
Strategy #6 – Play the most tickets that you can, as this increases the odds that you will be holding a winning ticket.
Strategy #7 – Pool your money for playing the lottery with several other people. Join a lottery syndicate. You will find many lottery syndicates on this website.
Strategy #8 – Try a wheeling system. Wheeling is a way for you to get maximum coverage of the numbers you play.
Strategy #9 – Check sites on the Internet to see which numbers have paid off lately in your local lottery. It is generally accepted that have not paid off lately are due to pay off.
Strategy #10 – If you are not sure which numbers have paid off lately or what are the numbers that are most likely to pay off in a future lottery, there are also many sites on the internet that predict through mathematical odds which numbers are most likely to come up.

Spanish Millionaire Raffle

Spain’s legendary Christmas raffles are known throughout the world, but did you know there’s also a twice-weekly Spanish Millionaire Raffle?   We call this game a Raffle, but in Spain it’s known as the Loteria Nacional and it’s actually the oldest national lottery game in the world.  Evert week the Spanish Millionaire Raffle Thursday Draw pays out a fixed prize pool of €12.6 million ($16.1 million) and, because it’s a raffle, someone is guaranteed to hit the jackpot.  Raffles are popular in Spain because 70% of all ticket sales are paid out as prizes and all prize money is guaranteed to be won.  Remember, the Thursday draw pays out €12.6 million ($16.1 million) every single week.
The Spanish Millionaire Raffle Thursday Draw gives you a 1-in-3 chance of winning. That’s the best odds of any national lottery game in the world. Plus there’s also a guaranteed top prize of €1.1 million ($1.4 million) every week. No other weekly game gives you this kind of prize-winning odds. Because it’s a raffle our ticket allocation is limited and when they’re gone, they’re gone, so don’t miss out!

Florida Lotto is one of the richest state lotteries in America, and the Florida Lotto Syndicate can maximize your chances of winning. When you join the Florida Lotto Syndicate, you get 50 chances to win in every draw – and there are 2 draws every week. That’s 100 chances every week to win a share of jackpots that can hit US$106 Million.
Florida Lotto jackpots start at US$2 Million and top prizes of US$10 Million or more are a regular occurrence. Numbers like that make Florida Lotto Syndicate a great way to play, giving you more opportunities to win your share of Millions in cash prizes. In fact, the overall odds of winning a prize are 1-in-67!

My Best Horse Betting Tips

The only way to regularly win bets in horse racing is by having a lot of useful information available to you before every race. Don’t place uninformed bets, leave that to the amateurs and one-timers.
Some useful tips:
◾Avoid betting on a horse that just moved up in class. He is probably out of his league.
◾Bet on horses that have won races before.
◾Avoid over-hyped horses.
◾Keep an eye out for good value bets, not just for the “sure thing”.
◾A slow or heavy track means fast starting horses have a better chance of winning.
◾Do not bet on every single race.
◾If a horse’s odds fall sharply right before the race starts, bet on it. This usually means someone has reliable information on the horse.
◾Horses that have run recently are favored over horses that have been off for a month or longer.
◾Give extra weight to an experienced jockey on races longer than a mile. A jockey’s skill becomes more important the longer the race is.

A Super Bowl Betting Tip

With the NFL playoff field set, bettors have the opportunity to match-up true odds against what the sports books are offering on conference and Super Bowl futures.
The futures odds around town for the various playoffs vary greatly. The differences in the odds are usually based on the risk a particular book has built up since February, when the first futures numbers for the 2013-14 season were posted.
But rather than betting a team to win the Super Bowl on futures odds, you may be better off betting the various playoffs. For example, San Francisco has to win four games along the way to even get to the Super Bowl! Thus, if you simply bet the Niners on the money line each game while rolling over your winnings from the previous week, you could increase your payout. To get an idea on what the payout might be, multiply the money line for each of their possible games.
LVH futures: Super Bowl odds and the SuperBook
In some cases, you can find true odds in future prices, such as the LVH’s number on the Broncos to win the AFC at 5-to-8 (-160). However, Denver has to win only two games to cash, and if they face the Colts and Patriots, their likeliest opponents, you cannot do much better if rolling the money over.
If you are looking for long shots, rolling the money over is definitely the best way to go. The Chargers are 17-to-1 to win the AFC, but if they win at Cincinnati (+250), at Denver (+300), and at New England (+200), that combination pays 41-to-1, which is not a “bad” payoff!
Generally, the money-line favorite is usually offered at longer odds than in the regular season during the playoff season. That’s because the public likes to take a crack with the underdog winning outright for the chance to bet a little to win a lot.
Another advantage to rolling the money over is that you are not locked in like future wagers. You can stop and bank the money at anytime, or at least pull out a portion of the profits.
If you want to bet a team to win the Super Bowl, then my advice is to play that team on the money line each week and roll the winnings, or a portion of them, to the next game
